Welcome to the "Otranto nel Mondo" School of Italian language and Italian culture in South Italy, Apulia.

Otranto, " The Gateway To The East " and prestigious " City of Art ", is a tourist town in South Italy, in the Province of Lecce, situated on the easternmost point of the Salento Peninsula. At a distance of 50 km is situated the City of Lecce known as the " Florence of the south'".

Perugia University For Foreign Students

The University for foreign students of Perugia is the oldest in Italy and the most prestigious institution in the field of research into the study and teaching of the Italian language and into the promotion of knowledge of Italian culture and civilization abroad. The University is a founder member of the ALTE (Association of Language Testers in Europe) and is the sole institution to represent the Italian language. The principal aim of the ALTE is to promote international recognition of European systems of certification, thus guaranteeing a fair and equal frame of reference.

Levels Taught At The Italian School

The Italian Language School for foreign students in Italy is able to provide Italian language courses at six levels; each course participant’s level of knowledge of the Italian language is assessed by means of initial tests.

By arrangement with the Perugia Universtity for Foreign Students, the Italian language school is an examination centre for the Certificates in Italian Language (CELI) and Business Italian (CIC). Examinations for the CELI certificate are held twice a year in Italy, in June and November; those for the CIC certificate are held once a year in Italy, in June, and candidates who pass this exam are awarded the CELI / CIC certificate.
