The Yangtze River with a length of 6 330 km is the longest river in Asia. The most famous section is the 600 km long segment between Chongqing, a city with a population with more than tree and a half million inhabitants, and Yichang – the section which includes the “Three Gorges” and the “Three Gorges Dam Project”.
After complete filling of the dam’s water reservoir, the Yangtze River and its “Three Gorges” wont have lost any of their beauty.

After incorporation of the “Historic Center of Macao” into the World Heritage List in the year 2005, the “Sichuan Giant Panda Sanctuaries” and “Yin Xu” the capital of the late Shang-dynasty (1300 to 1046 B.C.) were added to the list in 2006.
Now the World Heritage List comprises altogether 830 heritages in 138 countries. Thereof 644 are cultural heritages and 162 natural heritages, 24 heritages belong both to the cultural and to the natural heritages. 33 heritages are located in China.
