In the Eye of Greatness

October 13th, 2006

I always strive to be the best in all of my endeavors. I longed to be great from a very young age. Greatness is something that you must feverishly dedicate yourself to in order to acquire it. Hard works, discipline, dedication, are only a few things that can bring you to the plateau of greatness.

By the time you finish this article you will no longer be afraid of greatness. You are great. In fact, you are about to embark upon your own greatness in a miraculous way.

William Shakespeare once said, “Be not afraid of greatness; some are born great, some achieve greatness, and others have greatness thrust upon them.” I agree with most of his statement. Simply because I do not believe people are born great. However, I agree with every other aspect of his quote.

I want to look at three great living legends. They are the epitome of greatness. We can learn to implement the disciplinary strategies of three great legends to achieve our own individual greatness.

In the Eye of the G.O.A.T

“When you’re as great as I am, it is hard to be humble.” Muhammad Ali

From the very first moment of seeing him dancing in the ring beating upon his opponent Ali became my idol. He defied the way a heavyweight moved, danced, and fought. He brought big bucks to the sport of boxing. His various abilities transcended the boxing ring.

Ali’s greatness elevated him to majestic heights when he fought the United States government. After refusing induction into the armed forces his title stripped, facing possible jail time, Ali stood firm in his religious beliefs and came up victorious in the battle of his life.

Many did not care for his flamboyant ways and braggadocios shenanigans. Anyone who could call the round he would drop an opponent is a bad man in my book. I mean that is the exclamation point of greatness.

He was born Cassius Marcellus Clay on Jan. 18, 1942, in Louisville, KY. His boxing career started at the age of twelve, after having his bike stolen at the Columbia Auditorium. He approached a cop named Joe Martin proclaiming he was gonna whup whoever stole his bike.

Joe Martin admonished him “you better learn to box first” and the rest is history. Ali proclaimed I am the greatest. G.O.A.T is the acronym for the Greatest of all time. Despite his latest battle with Parkinson’s disease, Ali can teach us all to be warriors.

Here are 3 tips of Ali that will catapult you to become great.

1.Dedication to hard work with an ability to outwork others.

2.Be your own publicist. Make sure to toot your own horn.

3.Stand strong in the face of any adversity.

In the Eye of a Tiger

Eldrick Tiger Woods is the greatest golfer of all times. He is an icon of the sport. The twenty eight year old has won 53 tournaments, 40 of those on the PGA tour, including the 1997,2001 and 2002 Masters Tournaments. Woods holds the title of career victories leader among active players on the PGA Tour.

He holds so many records in golf that I refuse to write them all down. Tiger Woods has proven himself the greatest golfer of all times.

Here are 3 tips of Tiger that will catapult you to become greater.

1.Dedication to greatness. “I never wanted to be famous. I only wanted to be great.” Ray Charles

2.Concentrated focus. Keep focused at all times upon your goals and plans.

3.Keep a positive mindset and never let them see you sweat

In the Eye of Air Jordan

Michael Jordan is a basketball icon. When he came into the league people knew that he was a good player. I just do not think people realized how great he would become. I think the Chicago Bulls did not even realize this. Remember the slam-dunk contest between Jordan and Dominique Wilkens. Whoa!

Basketball legend Larry Bird once said “It’s just God disguised as Michael Jordan.” On Feb. 17, 1963 Michael Jordan was born in Brooklyn, NY. He played 11 full seasons with the Chicago Bulls, led the league in scoring a record 10 times, and in 1986-87 became the only player besides Wilt Chamberlain to score more than 3,000 points in a season, getting 3,041. His 31.5 scoring average is the highest in NBA history.

Jordan’s performance on the court opened the floodgates of endorsements from Wheaties, Gatorade, Hanes, McDonald’s, Warner Brothers, and Nike. His Air Jordan sneaker made Nike catapulted Nike’s growth. Michael’s talent made him multi-millions. He is the greatest player whoever played the sport.

Here are 3 Tips of Jordan that will catapult you to be the greatest.

1. Jordan has G.A.M.E. Greater Achievement Mentality Excel-eration. Never settle or become comfortable in your achievements in life. Always push yourself to be greater at what you do. Always set greater goals for yourself.

2. Refusal to Quit. Never quit keep fighting to go the distance.

3. Perfecting perfection. Always try improving every aspect of your game. Work on perfecting each of your talents and gifts. Practice makes perfect. Perfecting perfection means that no matter how good it looks or feels it can always get better.

Greatness is in your walk, talk, and mind. Strive towards being the greatest. I expect nothing less from you than greatness. You are great!]]>

Moving Dilemmas Consider Storage Facilities

October 12th, 2006

The modern solution is to put things you don’t want to use but cannot part with into a state-of-art storage facility. Many storage units have things like climate control, pest control to prevent destruction of stored items, as well as round the clock security.

When locating a storage unit keep in mind issues like will you need to take things out of storage often? If yes then choose a facility located close to where you live. Compute how much space you will actually need. Experts recommend taking a smaller space and filling it floor to ceiling rather than paying for space that will never be used. There are options like mini storage for really small loads. Think about whether you are storing antiques or paintings if yes, then look climate controlled storage.

Standard sizes of units are: 5×10; 10×10; 10×20; and 10×30. Find out how many items each kind can store. For example a 10×20 can hold most things from a two bedroom house while a 5×10 will hold a couch, chair, chest of drawers, small boxes, bicycles, and motorcycles.

Make a list of possible units. Find out how long they have been in operation and whether they have a solid reputation. Read all the rules and regulations. Some storage units allow 24 hr access while others have timings. Consider protecting your goods with sufficient insurance coverage.

Pack all the items to be stored in weather resistant strong boxes with padding like bubble wrap if there are breakables. Make a key list what each box contains and decide a priority list where by what you are unlikely to use will be stored at the bottom or back of the facility and what you may need to retrieve will be stored in front such that it becomes easily accessible.

The rent to be paid will be calculated on the size of the unit, the number of units available of the size you need, the term of lease, as well as facilities offered. Even storage facilities offer discounts so do ask. Clever negotiation can save you money. Many facilities charge in addition to rent, set up or processing fees as well as late fees if the rent is not paid within the stipulated time. Read the agreement carefully and seek answers to questions regarding security, insurance, the presence of an on site manager, adequate lighting, and ownership of the facility. Ask for references and check them out.]]>

5 Massive Reasons To Date Online!

October 11th, 2006

Five Massive Reasons Why
You Should Be Dating Online!”

Announcing five massive reasons why single men should use online dating!

How to meet more women than you could possible have time to date.

Let’s look at the reasons…

Massive Reason #1. Convenience!

From the comfort and privacy of your own home you can relax with a cup of tea or coffee, and scroll through an assortment of potential women to meet and date!

You can even have a beer or a glass of wine while doing it…

Instead of late nights in smoky bars and going home disappointed…and then wake up smelling like an ashtray.

I don’t enjoy unhealthy, smoky bars and drunks don’t interest me. Then there’s the loud thumping music where you have to shout at each other to be heard.

Where at home and in your own time, you can go online and pick a suitable profile to email and organize to meet.

I love doing this.

So for pure convenience and ease, online dating is the number one place for meeting women!

Online dating is a major breakthrough for single men.

You can meet women you wouldn’t otherwise ever have the opportunity to meet!

Therefore it creates an even playing field for men who don’t enjoy trying to ‘pull’ [meet and seduce] women in bars.

By learning some basic skills and getting experience, any man can succeed online.

Massive Reason #2. Not Having To Face Rejection by Approaching Women Cold!

This is a major bonus for guys who are recently divorced, split up and have lost their confidence and experience with meeting women.

It is the best way to ease back into the dating scene…

You don’t have to boldly approach a woman in public and get her number for a date.

You do it online via email, with no nervousness to deal with at all.

And if you contact a profile and she ignores your email, so what?

You just move on to another until you find one to meet, easy!

Therefore you are not confronted with your fear of being rejected in public, with online dating.

And if you do get ignored or knocked back, no one knows but you and it doesn’t MATTER.

There are plenty more to choose from…

And by the time you meet, you’ve already chatted via email and on the phone so there is no need to be nervous when you meet her for coffee.

Massive Reason #3. Confidence Building!

You gain confidence by meeting women online and having success with seduction.

This is a great benefit.

When I divorced after nine years I was nervous approaching women and had little success.

Once I had been online dating for six months I was back on my feet with women.

I now have the belief and confidence to approach and meet women everywhere.

I also have more skill at handling cold women and rejection when it happens.

Because I’ve learnt that it’s impossible to succeed 100% of the time.

Every No means you are closer to a Yes.

So if you are not getting rejected, you aren’t in the game!

You HAVE to be in the game!

The confidence you get meeting and seducing women online will enable you to meet the perfect lady for you. Whether that is online or offline. It’s getting the experience that is important.

As Tony Robbins would say, ‘Repetition is the mother of skill.’ :-]

Massive Reason #4. The Infinite Amount of Suitable Women!

It truly is an infinite amount of women available online to meet.

By having such a large pool of single women to contact, there is no need to ever be short of at least one date a week.

It’s just a case of being organized and only contacting local women to make the most of your time.

There will be anything from two to thirty two different sites in your region to join and check out profiles.

There is also many NEW women joining everyday…this will continue forever!

So it’s a must for single men to get good at online dating.

You can never run out of women to contact. Even if you exhaust one service you can try another. By the time you’ve gone through all suitable profiles to meet on the other service, the original one will have new stock! :-]

Online dating is also very affordable!

Massive Reason #5. Ease of Finding Suitable Partners!

By creating your own criteria and sticking to it, you can find someone suitable so much quicker than offline.

That is of course if they are honest in their profile…

[Which sometimes they aren’t.] :-]

This saves you a lot of time and money by having criteria.

For example, I don’t date women with children.

Which is hard in my age group.

But dating women with kids will never work out for me, so I just have to stick with my criteria.

I also don’t date smokers anymore…

So the more experience and confidence you get. The more definitive your criteria become.

By narrowing my criteria I have meet some great ladies a lot quicker than if I had just dated anyone who would go out with me.

Also when you approach someone in a bar you know nothing about them.

Online you get to know a reasonable amount before you make contact.

This really does increase your odds of meeting suitable partners.

I love online dating…I much prefer it to bars as an alternative.

It’s paved the way for me to be comfortable when I am single. Because I know there is a LOT of suitable women online and I’ll be back dating a nice lady sometime soon….

All the best to you…

Benidorm - Spain vacations around the Costa Blanca

October 10th, 2006

The biggest Attraction around Benidorm: Terra Mitica

This park in English is called ´Mythical Land´, because it is a theme park which takes us back to the ancient civilizations of Rome, Egypt and Greece, all of which were Mediterranean civilizations. As we all know, the heroes from those times were very brave, not letting anything or anyone frighten them. Do you think you will be like them after having ridden on the topsy turvy roller coaster? Or controlling your heartbeat after riding on many of the other attractions especially set up for you? Maybe you think you will recover a little after watching one of the gladiator shows? Your adrenalin will be pumping fast with all the professional actors making ancient life come so close to you. There is also a part of this park for adventurous kids too. Terra Mitica is open all year round; from November to April it is only open at the weekends and on Spanish holidays. The entrance fee is approximately 40 euros but if you go in groups consult prices. Terra Mitica is found just five minutes north of Benidorm, easily accessible by bus or car.

Aqualandia Water Amusement Park

So you want to cool down a little but the beach is not your cup of tea? Here at Aqualandia you can enjoy a days outing with the whole family. The children can slide down all the water slides as many times as they wish, always being well cared for by the lifeguards on duty. There are water shutes of every size, diving board areas, rapidly moving waters and even a black hole. For the sun beauties like mum and grandma, you can lay around on comfortable hammocks and enjoy a picnic lunch in the shaded areas. It is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and is located on the north entrance hillside to Benidorm.

Another view on the Costa Blanca at the Terra Natura Park

This is not like any other wildlife park. Here, there are four theme areas and a water park. 1.500 animals of over 200 species, 50 of which are in danger of extinction. What a privilege to be the lucky ones to see these living specimens up close! And not only these animals but their natural habitats and fauna which makes their living quarters appropriate for them. As you enter the park, the first area to visit is the Pangea, taking you back in time to hen there were rivers petrified from hot burning lava, abundant vegetation hiding gigantic insects and many other surprises. To the left you are carried away to America, discovering an old mine converted into a tropical farm. The colorful macaws are found in the dove cove and later on the old joins the new in the colonial town of Copaltenango. In the center is Asia. As you stroll through the natural reserve of Kaziranga, you are able to see rhinoceros, buffalos and the temple of the wildcats. In this section there is a marvelous park for children to play in. And last, but of course not least, is Europe. In the town of Kalicameni, white-washed and full of comedians and natives singing their local songs. All this may sound tiring, but there are many a new food to be tried and a thirst-quenching drink to be had at any of the fabulous restaurants. And for those who need an extra thrill, in the Mare Nostrum waterway, you are fully equipped to have splash with live sharks! Terra Natura is open all year round, offering special passes for those who know how to appreciate a good opportunity and to take advantage of it as often as possible.

Benidorm and the Doliphins at the Mundomar Marine Animal Park

Do you enjoy the water and its interesting animal kingdom but prefer to be on land? Then Mundomar (Seaworld) Marine Animal park is your best bet. All of us have read adventure stories about dolphins and feel that they are our friends, well it’s time to visit them. Here we can see the silly antics of these adorable sea creatures close up. Or chat up a conversation with the colourful parrots. The elegance and grace is personified with the exhibition of flamingos, so pink! Who has not had a turtle in their home as a pet, but to see ones that you could probably ride is another surprise. But, are you still even more curious and want to see what the marine world is like under the water. Well, we can all become Ariel, or Sebastian as in the Little Mermaid book and go down into a ship and have a look around the sea bottom. Refreshments and resting places are abundant. It is open at 10:00 a.m., adults are 18 euros, children 3-12 years old 12 euros and under 3 are free. The entrance is near the cross roads of Avenue Mediterranean and Avenue Europe. Do not miss this amazing experience!

Between Pego and Oliva: The Vergel Park

If your travels have taken you along the coast heading towards Valencia, then it would be well worth making a stop off highway A-7 exit no. 61 which indicates the towns of Pego and Oliva and just follow the signs to this safari park, found near Ondara. There are all kinds of wild animals to be touched, fed and observed. For a little extra fun time activity, the kids can let their hair fly in the wind when riding a go kart, mini train or ponies. There are even some marine animals like dolphins and sea lions. It is a relaxing and educational day excursion for the whole family. It is only open in the summer from 10:00 in the morning til 7:00 in the evening.

Cactuslandia

Once again, you do not have to hire a camel and head into the dry desert to appreciate the wide selection of over 1000 cactus plants and similar shrubs. This is a private garden created by a German who was and is interested in the theme of cactii and tropical plants like banana trees, papaya, and mango. Also on this 3000m2 rugged hillside surface is an amazing museum which he put together and includes an extensive collection shells, different colored corals, unusual insects from all over the world and even some fossils.

Looking at this huge selection of theme parks and tourist attractions around Benidorm and the Costa Blanca, you certainly will find your favourite one on your next holidays around the spanish coast. Make your stay in Benidorm a complete one and visit each and every one, all unique.]]>

Berlin Germany Insider Sigtseeing – TOP 10 Sights – Part 1 of 4

October 9th, 2006

With about 3,400,000 inhabitants, Berlin is the largest City in Germany. It is 38 kilometres long and 45 kilometres wide. Consider that Berlin has a lot of suburbs and districts. As you know, the city was divided in its history. You will still recognize that there is/was East-Berlin and West-Berlin so it has a “City East” and a “City West”.

Arrival is possible with four different options.

1. By aircraft – Berlin has three airports.

2. By train – it’s a junction of the German Rail Network. Example, the station “Bahnhof Zoo” is located within Belin Mitte (City East), thus you have “instant access” to a lot of sights and pubs.

3. By Car – All motorways to Berlin lead to the “Berliner Ring”. From there you can get to the inner city on various access roads.

4. By Bus – it’s a well-priced and comfortable way to travel to this (or any other) city. The “Zentraler Omnibusbahnhof” (ZOB – Central Bus Station) is situated near the Exhibition Centre (ICC), in Charlottenburg, City West. From there, you have connections to over 350 destinations in Germany and Europe!

Now, shall we get started? Okay, c’mon, take my hand, let’s go sightseeing! :-)

Reichstag

The Reichstag was constructed from 1884–94 by Paul Wallot, is the seat of the German Bundestag or federal government and, with its new transparent dome, one of the biggest crowd-draws in Berlin. Its colorful past reflects the turbulence of German history since the 19th century. From 1994–99, the Reichstag was reconstructed and extended by the Architect Sir Norman Forster. He decided to add an accessible transparent dome, inwhich you can walk through and “participate” and view how political decisions are made. One says, “We (the government) want to show that we have nothing to hide”. Go to http://www.smart-travel-germany.com/berlin.html for further information of this monumental building.

Friedrichstrasse

This is the most legendary street in the whole city. It combines the architecture of the New Berlin with the tradition of the “Golden Twenties”. In the Twenties, the 3.5 km long street was the location for pleasure palaces, cafיs, theatres and variety theatres such as the famous “Wintergarten”. After the division of the city, the Wall also cut through this street. The world famous Checkpoint Charlie was located at the border of the districts of Kreuzberg and Mitte and thus at the border of East and West Berlin. Not only visitors but also the employees from the new, chic offices, agencies and media centres all enjoy the urban spirit and New York flair of the new Friedrichstrasse.

Checkpoint Charlie

From 1961 to 1990, Checkpoint Charlie was the only border crossing point for the Allies, foreigners, employees of the Permanent Representation, and officials of the GDR. And it was the place where Soviet and American tanks stood face to face. Today, the checkpoint is commemorated by a border sign and a soldier’s post.

Stuck for a moment, the second part arrives soon :-) Then you can go on with your Berlin Sightseeing Tour. In it we will go to places like the Alexanderplatz, the Brandenburg Gate, and the Museum’s Island.

Kind regards,
Marcus Hochstadt

Berlin Germany Insider Sigtseeing – TOP 10 Sights – Part 2 of 4

October 8th, 2006

Did you know that Berlin has more than 140 Museums? Did you know that this city has more than 1,400 bridges, and besides all that more than 100 additional places of interest? Read on to discover.

IV. Berliner Dom (Berlin Cathedral)

This impressive building was the court church of the Hohenzollern Dynasty. It was also conceived as a protestant answer to St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. It was built during the reign of Kaiser Wilhem II, end of 19th Century. Following extensive damage to the building during the Second World War, a simplified reconstruction took place from 1975–93. The Christening and Marriage Chapel contains the altar painting “Miracle of the Pentecost” by K. Begas the Elder. The royal crypt of the Hohenzollern contains around 100 burials of five centuries.

V. Alexanderplatz

Its short name is “Alex,” and it’s the most famous square in Berlin. It was almost completely destroyed in the World War 2. It has also the big TV Tower which dominates the square, the Fountain of International Friendship, and the World Time Clock.

VI. Fernsehturm (TV Tower)

This is the highest building in Berlin and one of the biggest attractions. It has a height of 368 metres. When you go up to the viewing platform (at a height of 203 metres), you have a perfect view over the whole city you will never forget.

VII. Brandenburger Tor (Brandenburg Gate)

This is the true symbol of the city. Because it was situated in the no man’s land just behind the wall, it also became a symbol of the division of the city. After the fall of the Wall, the Gate was reopened on December 22nd, 1989. It is just amazing to walk through this huge and historical building. Would you like to know how the gate looked like in the year 1770? Or in 1969? Go to http://www.smart-travel-germany.com/brandenburg-gate.html for further information. There you will find the gate’s history, and some pictures.

Fortunately, since October 22nd, 2002, the Brandenburg Gate remains closed for cars, cabs and busses. So now you can better enjoy the renewed beauty of the Pariser Platz, which forms the link between the Brandenburg Gate and the magnificent “Unter den Linden” boulevard.

VIII. Unter den Linden

It’s called as the magnificent boulevard of Berlin Germany. It is surrounded by trees, which it was not all the time. Hitler ordered the linden trees to be chopped down so that the road could be widened and integrated into the east-west axes. However, by the end of the Second World War, the avenue was a wasteland of ruins. Today you can not recognize this part of history. Unter den Linden has been beautifully and well developed and reconstructed.

Museum’s Island? Where is it? Calm down :-) It will arrive in the third part of this 4-part article about the TOP 10 Sights in Berlin Germany. And in the fourth part, we will cover the Erotic Museum and… we’ll see what else.

Stay tuned!

Kind regards,
Marcus Hochstadt

8 Deadly Dating Mistakes To Avoid!

October 6th, 2006

#1 - Playing Games:

When it comes to dating we all have a fear of rejection. This is human nature. So playing it cool and not getting too involved with others makes us feel safe. Only problem with this is you may come off as being cold and aloof. For many people this is a real turn off. And you may find the date of your dreams slipping away. The best way to find a loving relationship is to be real. People will be far more receptive to you if they believe you are genuine.

An other game people play is the “manipulation” game. Doing things like telling someone you “love them” or you’ll “call them” just to have them sleep with you. Then once the deed is done they never hear from you again. This is one of the most cruel forms of manipulation and it must be considered unacceptable in the dating world.

Understand that it is O.K. to be a bit cautious. But you still must be brave and show the real you. Only then will you be able to have a trusting, loving relationship with the date of your dreams.

#2 - Moving to Fast:

Ladies this one is for you. We all fantasize about our future and the man of our dreams. Again, this is only human. But, do you find yourself testing out his last name with yours and you haven’t even gone out on a third date yet? Well, if you do it’s time to remind yourself to Slow Down. Here’s why. Normally for the first 3-8 months of a relationship we are running on euphoria. You know that “head over heels” or that “swept off your feet” kind of feeling that comes with falling in love? Well, there’s an actual reason why this occurres. It’s from a chemical in our body called oxytocin. Basically, this chemical takes over our brain and it interferes with our ability to think clearly. So, until you’ve had time to get to know a person, and spend time with him to see what he is really like, it’s best not to get to far ahead of yourself. If your expectations become to high you may find yourself heading down the path of heartache, and losing the date of your dreams. Slow Down!

#3 - Are you always talking about your ex?

Carrying old baggage into a new relationship can be disastrous. Sure we’ve all had previous relationships, and yes your new love will find out about them. But, if you are constantly complaining about your ex, or always comparing your current love to your ex, it will get real old, real fast.

Instead, take some time to get to know this person. Give yourself the opportunity for a new start. Try to work out any old problems before you start up a new relationship. This way you won’t allow the old baggage to cloud your judgment and affect your actions with your new love. Always talking about your ex may have you losing the date of your dreams.

#4 - Red Flags:

What are Red Flags? Well, here are some, but there are plenty more. - Someone you were scheduled to meet doesn’t show up and has no reasonable explanation as to why. - Someone your involved with will not give you their home phone number. - He/she will not introduce you to family or friends. - He/she won’t go out in public with you.- Being cruel to a pet. - Being disrespectful to a parent. Yes, all of these are Red Flags. And, Red Flags should not be ignored.

While you should not jump to conclusions about anyone unless you have sufficient evidence that something maybe wrong. If you do feel there is a problem you will need to confront this person and ask for an explanation. If you do not get an acceptable explanation and the situation continues to occur then you need to move on. You do not want to waste your valuable time on a relationship that is doomed to fail.

#5 - Thinking Obsessively:

Are you a worrier? If so, don’t let it ruin your relationship with the date of your dreams. Many people will worry over a relationship, even before it has a chance to really get going. You’ll worry over what he/she said, or what your response was to something said. You’ll worry over whether the relationship is moving to fast or to slow. Or whether the relationship is working at all. And, what will your friends think, your family think and so on. You need to understand that this sort of obsessive behavior is a real relationship killer. Try to build some self-confidence and trust that the relationship will work. And at a pace which is perfect for the both of you.

#6 - The Interrogation:

Do you want to know every detail of someone’s life, and try to get it out of him/her on the first date? Well, you can’t, not on the first or even the second date. If you come off as “The Interrogator” your new dream date will soon become tired of answering all your questions and move on to someone else. How many kids do you want to have? is not a good opening line on a first date. Just relax, let things happen naturally through simple conversation. Soon you’ll know all there is to know about you new friend. So relax and just have some fun with you new date.

#7 - What about your needs?

Do you want kids, but, he/she does not? Did you tell him/her you want kids or are you just going along with his/her idea of life? You must be able to directly communicate your needs. If you don’t you will spend your time in a relationship without having your needs met. You need to know what your own needs are and what his/her needs are before starting a serious relationship. When talking about your needs be assertive. Not bossy, naggy or demanding. But, tactful and direct. And, if the two of you can not agree on meeting each other’s needs, (what ever they maybe) then it is time to re-evaluate the relationship. In any relationship whether it be personal or business the needs of all parties involved must be met.

#8 - Sacrificing too much:

Do you find yourself doing things to show someone you care that you would never do other wise? Are you letting yourself be used as a “doormat”? Usually this sort of behavior is associated with low self-esteem. Please realize that in any healthy relationship both parties must be treated as equals. And both parties must have their needs met. If this sounds like you re-evaluate your relationship, and if your are not happy get out. There is someone out there who will love you for who you are, without you having to jump through hoops to prove it.

Good Luck!

A Cat Island Bahamas Vacation

October 5th, 2006

The Hermitage is a bit of an historical oddity, fascinating and strange. The hike up to see this religious site will take visitors through small villages along beautiful trails, full of island flora and fauna. It is located at the top of Mt. Alvernia, which is 206 feet above the sea and the highest point in the Bahamas. The Hermitage itself is made from the limestone of the cliffs, with each piece painstakingly extracted, shaped and set by hand by the Canadian mule-skinner turned Anglican turned Roman Catholic priest known as Father Jerome. The Father built the structure to scale, designed it to fit his rather diminutive form. Beloved by the island people, the priest passed away in 1956 after reaching the ripe age of 80.

Other historical sites include an Arawak cave, found at Columbus point, and plantation ruins, left over from the islands efforts at joining the worlds cotton growers. Deveaux mansion was once the residence of Andrew Deveaux of the US Navy, who participated in the 1873 battles to get Nassau back from Spain. Another well known ruins is the remains of the Ambrister plantation, near Port Howe.

For those interested in water sports, the Cat Island Dive Center is the place to contact. They operate out of the Greenwood Beach Resort and have a variety of diving and snorkeling packages available, and there are many fine areas to explore, offering a wealth of marine life and fascinating geological formations. They also have water sport equipment to rent.

Cat Island is the sixth largest island in the Bahamas, and boasts extraordinary beaches. There are literally miles and miles of virtually undisturbed beaches, where swimming and relaxing can be done in near complete privacy.

Fine meals can be had at several locations on Cat Island. Hawk’s Nest Resort and Marina serves a variety of dishes, but among the best are the fresh, grilled fish and the roasted rack of lamb. Fernandez Bay Village is the place to go for creative and delicious native dishes, served either in the dining room or a patio table by the beach. Greenwood Beach Resort’s Bahaman cuisine is complemented by their marvelous breads, which are baked every day.

Cat Island is an excellent choice for vacationers who are seeking a natural beach experience, and enjoy a peaceful and very laid-back atmosphere. The island can be explored at a leisurely pace, which is a much better way to enjoy the local flora and fauna, as well as to enjoy the local culture. Because it is so much smaller in population than many of the other islands, it’s easier to get a real feel for the people and their way of life. Cat Island is an interesting place that will make a lasting impression on its guests.]]>

A City of 650 Bridges, Sauerkraut and 7 Christmas Markets……

October 4th, 2006

Sightseeing is intense in Berlin…from the remnants of the former Wall to the Brandenburg Gate to Checkpoint Charlie, there is a lot to see in Berlin. A short city break is usually not enough to take in all the historical sights of this legendary city and a second visit is usually imminent on any first-time traveller’s agenda. The transport system in Berlin is, justifiably, known as one of the most efficient in Europe and connects Berlin with the rest of Germany and European countries.

With so many airlines operating routes to Berlin’s main international Tegel airport and a whole crop of low cost carriers now flying to Schonefeld Airport too, it’s never been easier to visit Berlin. Berlin specialists, www.myberlin.co.uk offer fantastic, low prices for a city break to Berlin. They combine cheap flight and discounted hotel packages at top quality hotels including the 5 star Westin Grand Hotel. Check out the offers now as these prices are unbelievably excellent value for money and are not going to be around forever!

As Berlin is just an hour’s flying time from the UK, it makes for the perfect city break, both midweek and weekend. Whether for shopping, sightseeing or for the Christmas Markets, Berlin also makes a great culinary break for food lovers. Try authentic sauerkraut, spicy sausages, schnitzels and pretzels washed down with one of the 800 varieties of beers found in the Bavarian region of Germany. I would recommend you visit Berlin at any time of the year but more so at Christmas when the city is lit up by thousands of twinkling lights and the air is crisp with a hint of snowfall beginning to cloak the city with its velvety texture – that’s the best time to go to Berlin!]]>
